Every spring we since we have been at the house in Chatou a pair of Great Tits has nested in one of the Nest Boxes provided in the back Garden.
The tree Nest Box was never very successful as it was prone to predation, so I removed it at the end of 2019.
The nest records that I have managed to gather are shown below. The records for the first years are very sparse as I was, I’m afraid, a complete newbie, and have only learnt over time the power of record keeping.
An additional note on the unsuccessful nest of 2019. The first chicks hatched on 1st May and in the end a total of 7 emerged. However by 7th May only two chicks remained alive and all chicks were dead by 11th May.
