Swift Records

Were we live in Chatou we don’t get many Swallows or martins but every year we see hundreds of swifts. Migrating from Africa and arriving in April-May, they circle above feeding on insects. As we are very close to the river there is a good abundance of insect food and this likely attracts the birds to our area.

The classic date to record is the first sighting in the year of a swift. Also I would like to get a swift using the provided nest box and if so I would really be able to make some interesting recordings.

However for the time being this is a page in waiting for some action!
